News Cartoons



Cartoons are essential part of a newspaper. Almost all newspapers and magazines use them. An artist who creates cartoons is called a cartoonist. Cartoons are considered as the finest and efficient tool for social criticism in a humorous and simple manner. Social, political and cultural issues are generally the subjects for cartoons. It appeals people in all sections of society. It is a form of self-expression where the subject is of social relevance.
Different types of cartoons that appear in a newspaper are editorial cartoons, pocket cartoons, panel comics, comic strips, etc. An editorial cartoon is also known as a political cartoon. It is an illustration containing a commentary that usually relates to current events or personalities. It papers in the middle of editorial page. 
Pocket cartoons are single column cartoons that appear in the bottom corner of the front page of a newspaper. Pocket cartoons generally features a main character and are socio political satires. A panel comic is made up of one panel. The cartoon is about an everyday event with a twist. Usually there is a punch line at the bottom off the panel. Comic strips are published in newspapers and magazines. They usually consist of drawings and speech bubbles and are a series of panels. The characters in comic strips will appear regularly.
