News and Views, Op – Ed and writing Reviews


The experts and critics express their views on current news events or issues of social relevance. Most of the newspapers have special columns for views of peoples. Views also can be opinions and ideas ex-pressed by various personalities during interviews or in writing.


Op-ed is the abbreviation of opposite the editorial page. It is a piece of article typically published by newspapers, magazines. It expresses the opinions of a named author usually not affiliated with the publication’s editorial board. Op - Ed is different from both and letters to the editor. It is lighter than an editorial. 
The critic writes their overall opinion on a specific subject, addressing the readers, called reviews. Reviews are written on various subjects like books, films, plays, food products, vehicles, events, etc. A critic seldom add too much of personal views while writing a review. The critic needs to be an expert in the concerned field, having sufficient background knowledge of the subject. 
A reviewer can give personal assessment, opinion and judgment on the topic while writing a review. Most of the newspapers have board of experts for writing reviews. A reviewer should always be unbiased and avoid wrong information.
